HALL SIMMONS
Founder, Owner, & CEO
Hall founded Southern Acre in 2014 after relocating from Washington, D.C. to Nashville with his wife Jennifer. He entered the industry without a traditional background in it — and credits that humility as one of the best things that could have happened to the company. Learning from mentors he still considers the best in the business shaped how Southern Acre approaches everything: the commitment to craft, the investment in the team, and the standard of service clients can count on. He holds a Category 3 certification with the Department of Agriculture and a General Contractor's license in the State of Tennessee.

A Memphis native who's made Nashville home, Hall stays busy off the clock coaching his four kids' sports teams and getting them out on the water whenever he can.

JONATHAN MCLENDON

Jonathan brings a deep foundation in turf science, agronomy, and landscape management, starting his career in golf course maintenance before moving into account management and operations roles. At Southern Acre, he oversees client relationships and turf care operations, and works directly with clients on enhancement projects. He holds a degree in Turfgrass Management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, along with HLT and CAT 3 certifications.

Originally from Georgia, Jonathan and his wife made Nashville home before starting their family. When he's not on a property, you'll likely find him fishing or hunting.

JAMES WILSON
Account Manager
James got his start the same way many in this industry do — mowing neighbors' lawns — and has been building on that foundation ever since. Since 2019, he's worked across commercial and residential general contracting, developing a strong eye for quality and a clear sense of what clients expect. At Southern Acre, he manages client relationships and brings a specialized credential most teams don't have: he's a certified inspector and maintenance professional for stormwater control measures.

A Nashville native through and through, James and his wife enjoy weekend walks with their dogs in Franklin. Outside of work, you'll find him on the golf course, at the gym, or around a fire when the weather cooperates.

GRANT EARL
Account Manager
Grant manages client relationships and oversees enhancement projects at Southern Acre, with a focus on clear communication and exacting execution. His roots in the work go back to early days doing yard work as a kid, where he developed the attention to detail and appreciation for a well-transformed property that still drives how he operates today. He is CAT 3 certified in Turf & Ornamental.

Originally from Collierville, TN, Grant brings a level of discipline to the job that comes naturally: he's served as a Military Police Officer in the Tennessee National Guard for 11 years and currently commands Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 117th Military Police Battalion. Outside of work, he stays active through rugby and exercise, follows Mississippi State athletics, and spends plenty of time with his black lab, Stella.

Irrigation Manager
Michael brings over a decade of experience across commercial, private, and public sector irrigation, from system design and troubleshooting to full-scale water management. That breadth of experience informs how he manages construction, enhancement, and irrigation projects at Southern Acre. He holds Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) and Certified Backflow Tester credentials from the Irrigation Association.
